Looking forward to hearing reports on how the amplifier works for you.
We have a Yaesu FT-817 on the boat and we are thinking of stepping out of the QRP world.

Hi Scott: I ran the amplifier off of the Bioenno 15ah lifepo4 yesterday for the ARRL Sweepstakes. It worked great! I want to use it some more times before a final verdict. I’ll bring it up to the Hill next time. Mindy

Just curious… How much does the amp weigh and what is the device on top of the tuner?

      Hi Bruce!
That is the MFJ-847 digital swr/wattmeter. The amp does put out the expected 100W with 5W driving from the internal battery of the 705. If I am reading your mind, yes it would work with the 817. It only weighs a bit over 3 pounds and is cute as a button. I’ll bring it by on Tuesday.

    Hello Mindy!
What model number RM amp did you end up purchasing and from what dealer?
My 705 needs a little HF boost also.
    thanks

      Hi Dave:

It is the RM Italy MLA100V. The “V” is for the model with the fan. Given that this is my first amplifier, I actually had no idea if I needed the fan or not (still not sure, though it is fairly quiet and doesn’t get in the way).

I got it from DX Engineering, and spoiled myself by overnighting it. Absolutely no problems with them. The following is the link.

The only extra part needed is this cable for t/r switching.

Let me know if you get it!
